Vail Valley Academy of Dance, with the support of Friends of the Dance, provides its technically proficient students the opportunity to audition for inclusion in the Vail Youth Ballet Company. The Company dancers have additional performance opportunities throughout the year such as The Nutcracker, Student Showcase, At Home for the Holidays, and An Evening with the Vail Youth Ballet Company. In 2014 the VYBC company competed in YAGP, with one student placing in the top 12 in the Classical Division of her age group.

The Vail Youth Ballet Company has had the opportunity to work with such artists as Cleo Parker Robinson, David Taylor Dance Theater, and the Nicholas Andre Dance Theater. Company members are also exposed to many guest teachers and choreographers such as Parker Esses from New York and Robert Machherdel from Lemon Spongecake in Boulder.

Rehearsals and performances are separate from classroom work and participation in the Company requires sincere dedication and commitment on the part of the dancer and parents.
